An own goal to remember
So many own goals scored in soccer occur in perfectly understandable situations, such as a defender sprinting back to cover ground only to have the ball suddenly ricochet off his shin and into the net.
But then there is Hull City’s Anthony Gardner and his laughably bad goal against Wolves in a 2-2 draw in late January.
What’s even worse? Wolves and Hull City are tied in points near the foot of the Premier League. This goal could be the difference in relegation.
